UK - ILGRA - Sub-Group on Setting Standards
ILGRA's Standard Setting Sub-Group was concerned with examining the practices in the setting of safety standards.
It was chaired by HM Treasury.
Recent Report:
The sub-group produced a Report on Department of Environment Methodology For Setting of Safety Standards which aimed to build on the 1996 Treasury report 'The Setting of Safety Standards' by examining samples of the methodologies used to set departmental safety standards and the guidance and principles on which they are based.
The report set out the findings and conclusions of three cases from the Department of the Environment. The work was a joint HM-Treasury/Department of Environment exercise, with input also from the Cabinet Office's Regulatory Impact Unit, the Environment Agency, HSE, academia and industry.
