Importance of Reporting for Improving Health and Safety Standards in the UK

Lord Hunt spoke at the 4th International Symposium on Confidential Reporting Systems. The event was co-hosted by the National Patient Safety Authority (NPSA) and Confidential Incident Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS) for the Rail Industry in the UK.

Health and Safety Challenges in the Attractions Industry

Lord Hunt makes the keynote speech at the Attractions Industry Forum, at the NEC Birmingham. The main points of the speech included:

  • Sensible health and safety management
  • Health and safety in fairgrounds and amusement parks
  • The Health, Work and Wellbeing Strategy
17/11/05 Department for Constitutional Affairs initiative
A Department for Constitutional Affairs initiative brought Ministers and invited stakeholders together to discuss perceptions of an increasing compensation culture. The Minister for Health and Safety at Work Lord Hunt, led a session on sensible risk management.
18/10/05 The Future of Occupational Health and Safety in the EU
The conference looked at how current activities are helping to achieve the aims of the strategy and how the next strategy can help to further improve OSH in the EU. Lord Hunt gave a keynote speech.
13/07/05 Sensible Risk Debate - House of Lords seminar
A packed committee room in the House of Lords heard Lord Hunt, Bill Callaghan and Jonathan Rees formally launch the sensible risk debate, including a discussion document on public safety.
