The post

This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and deliver project work for both HSE and non-HSE clients in the field of risk assessment. Specifically, you'll provide research and support on accident and ill health causation, mitigation and prevention in a wide range of industries. These will include small firms and railways, as well as nuclear and chemical process plants.

Your role

We will expect you to develop risk assessment methodologies, models and tools, determine failure rates and perform and review risk assessments, including the consideration of human and organization factors. You must also carry out project work; manage project teams; write reports and present research. This will all contribute to the development of our commercial risk assessment portfolio.

Person requirements

You must have:

• a good degree in an appropriate scientific subject and relevant postgraduate experience in risk assessment.
• the ability to apply the necessary techniques, such as hazard identification, determination of failure rates, fault and event tree analysis and consequence analysis.
• first-class communication skills and be highly organised in your approach.
• the ability to work on your own initiative and be highly adaptable.
• some experience of bidding for and winning contracts.
