Construction manager of the year award logo

HSE is pleased to be co-sponsoring the CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2008.  These awards are open to site-based project managers with overall responsibility for the delivery of any UK construction project; the awards are given to the individuals for their own project management work, not to their projects.

HSE will be sponsoring one of the ten categories covering managers on all construction projects from the smallest scale up to the very largest retail and commercial developments.  Each category has a Gold and Silver medal winner with all the Gold winners going forward for the final selection of 'Construction Manager of the Year'.

No other awards in the construction industry are subject to the level of judging and scrutiny that the CIOB applies to these Awards. Judges look for evidence of outstanding management skills in:

  • Pre-contract phase
  • Design and risk management
  • Contract planning
  • Financial control
  • Health, safety and welfare
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Leadership
  • Relationship with stakeholders
  • Quality control
  • Project closeout

Location: Marriott Grosvenor House, London
