HSC Consultations - Proposals for new amending Regulations about the Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Chemicals: (CHIP 3.1)

Consultation ended 8 April 2005

Summary

The Regulations need to be amended for two reasons. Firstly, to implement the 29th Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP) of the European Community’s Dangerous Substances Directive; and secondly, a number of minor editorial changes to the text are planned. These are largely editorial and will clarify and correct; they will not alter the existing requirements of CHIP. The new Regulations will be known as the Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 (CHIP 3.1).
