HSE and health services

HSE is organised into a number of directorates, of which the largest is the Field Operations Directorate (FOD). FOD is the main ‘operational arm’ of HSE and consists of HSE inspectors, industry sector groups and support staff.

One of these industry sector groups is the Public Services Sector which has responsibility for all health and safety issues relating to the public services sector. This includes the Health & Social Care Services.
