National policy on health and social care issues is the lead responsibility of the Health and Social Care Services Unit.
HSE has several Operational Units with day to day responsibilities for health and social care issues. Inspectors are the first point of contact for issues within their geographical remit. Find your nearest office.
The Policy Group is responsible for securing improvements of sickness absence levels across the public sector.
Organisations within the public sector remit include the National Health Service and subsidiary care organisations, independent healthcare, local government, Fire, Police, Defence, and Education services in England, Scotland and Wales.
There are over 5 million public sector workers in total across Great Britain, representing about 18 of the workforce.
