HSE seminar on the Revised Safety Assessment Principles for Nuclear Facilities

26th January 2007

The SAPs are guidance for NII inspectors when making judgements on dutyholders safety cases and date back over many years. The publication of the revised version [PDF 1.89mb], following an extensive stakeholder engagement process, was in December 2006. This seminar was the final stage of the engagement process. The day was a mixture of presentations (HSE’s Nuclear Directorate (ND), other regulators and industry) and discussion periods themed around particular areas of concern.

Aim of the seminar

To provide an overview of the revised SAPs and how they will be used, evaluate stakeholders views on the process of revision and allow stakeholder to comment on the final version.
