HSE is responsible for the regulation of almost all the risks to health and safety arising from work activity in Britain. Our mission is to ensure that risks to people’s health and safety from work activities are properly controlled. To achieve this HSE utilises the expertise, knowledge and skills of staff in the Offshore Division who are a part of the Hazardous Installations Directorate.
Offshore Division is made up of 4 Units; based in Aberdeen, Bootle, London and Norwich.
Our Vision: is to gain recognition of health and safety as a cornerstone of a civilised society, and with that achieve a record of workplace health and safety that leads the world.
Our Mission: is to protect people’s health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled. In securing these, we strive, in a changing environment, to be a closely integrated, efficient and professional organisation, which will continue to earn the respect of all those involved in upstream petroleum and diving activities. Our
strategy is aligned with the HSC/E strategy for workplace health and safety in Great Britain to 2010 and beyond.
Partnership: We will work in partnership with employers by using our resources, wherever possible cooperatively, to secure the shared target of the U.K. having the safest upstream oil and gas and inshore diving industries by 2010.
