Status: Government research institute affiliated to the Ministry of Labour.
Principal functions and activities: The primary aims of NIOH-DK are to assist in creating a safe and healthy working environment by investigating factors in the workplace influencing the safety and health of workers, including the impact of well-being of people at work. Further aims are to disseminate knowledge, results and experiences concerning the working environment, and to contribute to research training (Ph.D and post doc training). The principal subject areas at present are musculoskeletal disorders; information technology at work; indoor climate; quality assurance; work related cancer; technical prevention and substitution; microbiology, irritation and allergy; occupational psychology; neurotoxicology and risk assessment.
