HSE and the retail industry

Health and safety in the retail industry is regulated by Local Authorities. The Consumer and Commercial Services Section of HSE’s Service, Transport and Safety Unit (STSU) has a sector role for retail and leads operational policy in this area.

HSE’s Infoline can answer general queries on health and safety in the retail industry. You can also contact your nearest Local Authority Environmental Health Department.
